Reducing Emissions, Improving Livelihoods, Restoring Environment, Fostering Development

Community Carbon projects represent a powerful means for some of the world's poorest populations to meaningfully participate in the global carbon market. GCX specialises in assisting communities, mainly in developing countries, to develop projects that can benefit from current carbon markets. Such projects are typically LULUCF (Land-Use and Land-Use Change and Forestry) projects, i.e. aforestation, reforestation, avoided deforestation and soil carbon sequestration. Additionally, GCX is committed to deploying Solar cookers and fuel efficient stoves which significantly improve quality of live for many underprivileged communities.

Apart from generating greenhouse gas benefits and carbon assets, well designed community projects can improve rural livelihoods. They typically create new employment and income generating opportunities, contribute to the conservation of biodiversity and increase social and ecological resilience of rural communities to climate change.

GCX is working with several NGOs and local initiatives to develop projects. We encourage any organisation and individual to contact us with a project proposal.
