Product Carbon Footprint

Course description

This practical course gives learners the skills to conduct a detailed carbon footprint analysis of basic products such as a pen or a bottle of milk. By the end of the course learners will understand the concept of Life Cycle Analyses and of mass balance equations. Learners will be practically guided through the internationally recognised standard for product carbon footprinting, PAS2050, and will be able to analyse and compile a basic product’s carbon footprint using either a cradle-to-grave or cradle-to-gate approach.

How to write a PDD (Project Design Document)

Course description

This 2 day course uses three different case studies to teach learners how to write an in depth Project Design Document (PDD) under the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM). The course starts with a foundation that explains the function of the carbon markets, the Kyoto Protocol, the carbon project registration process, regulatory bodies and identifies the stakeholders involved. Learners will also be introduced to carbon project risks and the types of PDD’s that can be used.

The course then examines the different components that make up a successful PDD and includes practical examples and exercises that learners complete during the course ensuring they have the skills to conduct this process for their own purposes. Each section also includes tips and tricks from industry experts.

Intro Renewable Energy Systems - Information

Cost

The cost for the 2 day course is R4 250.00 (Excl VAT)

Payment

An invoice will be sent to you on receipt of your registration form. Please deposit the course fee directly into our bank account before the course commences (bank details are provided on the invoice).

Cancellation

A cancellation fee of 10% of the course fee will be levied if you cancel your registration 2 weeks before the course date, 50% of registration fee will be levied if cancelled 1 week or less before the course date. The full course fee will be levied if you fail to attend.

GCX reserves the right to reschedule or cancel any scheduled course upon five business days notice to confirmed registrants. Registrants may then enroll in the next available offering of the course, or cancel the registration. In the event of cancellation by GCX, any payment made for the canceled class will be refunded. The client understands and agrees that GCX shall not, in any way, be held responsible for any costs, including loss of airfare or other transportation costs, hotel expenses or other damages, which the client may suffer in the event that GCX cancels or reschedules a class.

Please bring pen, paper and your laptops if you have one as some of the practical examples will require excel spreadsheets.

Venues are subject to change. Be advised an email with course logistics will be sent to you a week before the start date. " The course will be presented from 09:00 – 17:00pm.

Lunch

Tea, coffee and lunch will be served during the breaks. The cost for this is included in the course fee.

Certificate

A certificate of GCX certified qualification will be issued after attendance and successful completion of the course.
